The Open Door Exhibition, celebrating participants and their artwork during Year 1 of the project was a huge success. Over the course of the day there were numerous activities to view and take part in. We held two workshops, each exploring textiles and printing; an exhibition of artwork; a display of animated films as well as images of participants taking part. The event took place throughout the whole building.
The energy during the event was brilliant! It was attended by Open Door participants, colleagues and friends of Artlink, funders, Arts Council England, Leeds City Council, other arts organisations, workers from current and previous projects together with participants and new contacts.
Attendees were guided around the building by a hand drawn plan, produced by Studio 3 member Howard Benn, this was an artwork in itself.
We were so proud to share the work of participants and excited about launching Year 2 which we are now busily preparing for. So watch this space as the following year’s work develops!
The event would not have been possible without the generous support of the following people:
Helen Hutty (volunteer photographer)
Milena Dragic (artist)
Howard Benn (volunteer artist)
Musarat Raza (artist)
Amarjit Birdi (artist)
Jess Bowie (volunteer)
Claire De Cahuna (volunteer)
