Inspire ran from February – September 2010. This vibrant and successful arts project was open to adult mental health service users who are currently not accessing employment. Participants worked with professional artists towards an exhibition of their work in August at arts@trinity in the centre of Leeds. Along the way they developed a range of different skills including; confidence development and upskilling current artistic ability. The quality of the work and the commitment of participants was truly inspiring, hence the name! The exhibition held towards the end of the project was a great success and a fitting tribute to the quality of work produced and the enthusiasm of participants. The exhibition was visited by many with people commenting on how moving the artwork was, we even had a number of interested buyers! The project has been brought together into an anthology of the work and text produced alongside it, if you would like a copy of this beautiful book please get in touch with Artlink.
