Year 1 of Get Started has whizzed by and what a year its been. Regular updates have been posted here on the projects page and also on the blog page, we’ve also had lots of Twitter action too! The year was rounded off with celebration events at Calverlands Day Centre, Bramley Fulfilling Lives and LiLAC. It has been an absolute pleasure to start the first year meeting such warm, talented and welcoming people, this includes participants, centre staff and artists. We’ve explored sculpture, story telling, creative writing, movement, animation and sound to name but a few at these last three sites. As the first year draws to a close we will be evaluating this first step as well as prepping for the second year, where we’ll return to each site and build on the skills and talents of all of those we’ve worked with in the second year. For now, we’ll leave you with a selection of images from Calverlands – where we worked with a combined group of older people living with dementia and adults with learning disabilities and also Bramley where the project inspired the group to create their own winter village complete with lights and wheelie bins made from Tic Tac boxes!
